    Hello,

I have a 4 day Swiss travel card with a family card along with. Can my daughter (14 yrs) travel free on cable car from Engelberg to Mount Titlis? STC says so, but RailEurope is conflicting. The problem is that STC offers only print ticket and not on email, otherwise I would have booked through STC.

    Please help.

    Thanks, Anjana

    Hello Anjana,

Your daughter will travel free with a Swiss Family Card (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw issfamilycard) which is available for free when acquired in conjunction with a Swiss Travel Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass) or Swiss Half Fare Card (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isshalffarecard). That includes Titlis.

If STC are saying it is snail mail only then you must be looking at a Swiss Travel Pass Flex. No one can deliver that for print at home.

If you are not after a Flex pass the have you gone through the whole STC process? I think you have to complete your passenger details and address before you see the on-line email delivery option.

    Hi Anjana,

You only need cable car tickets for the adults in your case. Are you looking to buy those online? STC can deliver those to any address in Switzerland, like your hotel, in 3 days: https://shop.switzerla ndtravelcentre.com/#/e n/product/excursionTit lis. Or, you can buy once there.

More information is here: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti tlis/tickets.

    Hello Arno,

I have purchased a swiss travel pass for 4 days and a Swiss family card. It is not a Flex pass.

Kindly correct me if I am wrong….in the link https://shop.switzerla ndtravelcentre.com/en/ product/excursionTitli s, I do not have to put any number in the children section and let it be zero only? Only the number of adults has to be put……right?

Also, if i book through this link http://www.raileurope.co.in/p ass/mount-titlis, will I have to put Youth/Child as Zero? I am more comfortable with this link, as I can print tickets online.

    Kindly suggest.

    best regards, Anjana

Do NOT buy a tickets for Titlis in advance. Wait until you are in Switzerland and make sure the weather is favourable. Same applies for any mountain excursion.

Hi Anjana. On both websites you can fill out “0” for your children. Showing your Swiss Family Card while there is enough and will allow your children to board for free.

The tickets issued by RailEurope are open-dated, so you’re not tied to one specific travel date. That could be a problem indeed if weather wouldn’t be good enough. But no worries: you can exchange the RailEurope ticket you bought online for a boarding ticket at the valley station on the travel date of your choice. Mind that this RailEurope ticket can’t be printed at home. It’s a paper ticket with physical delivery.

The STC tickets too are open-dated. You’re asked for a start date, but that’s not the date you’re obliged to travel. As Arno explained, you can have these tickets sent to any Swiss address, e.g. your hotel, for just a few CHF.

I guess I will buy the tickets when I am there only….and not right now!

    Regards, Anjana
