I have bought the 8 day Swiss travel pass...does it cover my train travel from Geneva to Montruex and then Montruex to Interlaken OST free of charge? Do I need to reserve a seat?

Yes. You can read more about where the Swiss Travel Pass is valid for free or discounted travel, and download a validity map, from the following page. Make sure to read the legend on the map, and zoom in for better detail of the routes shown if necessary.

Seat reservations are optional, but recommended on the Montreux-Zweisimmen sector (except in the low season), due to the popularity of this sector.
