Dear travelers, it’s been confirmed: entry into Switzerland will be much easier from Saturday June 26 :-)! We’re waiting for the details now and we’ll update the information in our first post once it’s all clear.

I am sorry but as Egypt is listed as a high-risk country, you need to be fully vaccinated to be able to enter Switzerland. In your case, this means that you need to have both of the 2 doses of AstraZeneca.
Arno just updated the first post in this thread, you might want to have a look at that.

Marvelett54Participant12 posts26 June 2021 at 12:27:42 #932994This is great news but sadly I’m going to have to wait till next year to do my road trip to Switzerland as back here in the Uk France , Germany, Switzerland are all on our amber list so lots off test to do which I cannot afford but I will be coming next year when hopefully no restrictions will be in place I cannot wait to visit this beautiful country this is my second year having to cancel but I’m sure it will all be worth it when I get there in 2022
thank you to all the team on here you Abe been fabulous keeping us all updated 😁
Marvelett
AnnaModerator6355 posts26 June 2021 at 12:43:00 #932995Hi Marvelett,
That’s unfortunate. On the other hand, it will give you more time to plan your trip 🙂
Regards,
Anna
LTommyParticipant18 posts26 June 2021 at 13:07:16 #932996Anna, your reply to Marvelett was helpful to me as just last night we canceled our overseas trip, departing July 4.
I won’t have that family trip before twins go to college (mainly due to overall travel time and risk of not getting home in time due to the need to test).
I did, however, rebook for the day after all kids will be back home! (😀)
I will continue to refine our ideas but keep to the itinerary so I don’t once again get the “ih no, I read too much again” virus.😂
For those with new plans they are excited about for this year, ENJOY!!
Marvelett54Participant12 posts26 June 2021 at 14:34:19 #932997Aww thank you Anna , yes I will be able to add more into it now and hopefully visit more places , as we will be traveling on our motorcycle 🏍 I’m sure we can fit a few more places in 😊, Iam dad that we cannot come this year but it will be all the more exciting when we plan to come in the summer 2022 🤞😁
Marvelett 😊
Marvelett54Participant12 posts26 June 2021 at 14:37:09 #932998LTommy I can so relate to this as it’s so difficult with testing and having to quarantine, I just find it’s better just to wait another year .I don’t want to but have to 😁
AnnikaModerator7116 posts27 June 2021 at 10:40:24 #932999I’m sorry to hear you have to postpone your trips LTommy and Marvelett. Let’s hope it makes the entire period of looking forward to your stay in Switzerland even more worthwhile. We’ll still be here to help you make the most out of your visits!
LiblumParticipant4 posts27 June 2021 at 17:10:31 #933000Hi. All the information posted and regularly updated here has been very useful! I am from Canada and I noticed that today Switzerland authority removed Canada from countries with a worrying variant. However it is not listed anywhere else in regards to entering Switzerland as a tourist. Does anybody know what is the entry status for Canadian tourist if they are not vaccinated? Is a negative test sufficient? (I am not a Swiss dual citizen/permanent resident and I don’t have EU passport)
AnnaModerator6355 posts28 June 2021 at 6:31:46 #933001Hi Liblum,
Thank you for joining MySwissAlps.
As of recently, the SEM list now contains countries which are considered non high-risk. All other countries not listed are considered high-risk, including Canada unfortunately. If you are not vaccinated, you will not be permitted entry for travel purposes. The list is regularly updated so it could change in a few weeks.
You can find all this information including links to official sites, on the first page of this thread.
Let us know if you have further questions.
Regards,
Anna
Richard123Participant44 posts28 June 2021 at 13:08:19 #933002Today would have been our first day in Switzerland for a three and half week driving tour. Moved it all to September…May be a better experience…depends on the weather.
I am anxious to hear how others from the US experience with customs and border control with the new measures in place.
Have a good day.
AnnaModerator6355 posts28 June 2021 at 13:18:16 #933003Hi Richard123,
I hope you’ll be blessed with a great weather in September (it usually is :)).And I’m sure some of our forum members and fellow travellers would be kind enough to share their experience here.
Safe travel and regards,
Anna
