Does the coronavirus affect trips to Switzerland?

Hi Chris C,
To see what rules apply to your own particular situation when entering Switzerland, you should consult the online Travelcheck. You can find the link in the first post of this thread. As far as I know, if your son is under 18, he is allowed to enter Switzerland without having to show proof of vaccination. However, you might still need to have a verified document just in case. You should confirm this with your embassy ahead of your trip.
Regards,
Anna
AnnikaModerator7124 posts20 April 2022 at 15:34:12 #933708Hi Switzerland travelers!
It looks like all countries that are currently still on Switzerland’s ‘high-risk country list’ will be removed from this list by May 2 2022. This would mean that from May 2, normal entry rules apply to all travelers as they were before the pandemic. Proof of vaccination and/or recovery shouldn’t be required anymore.

Frances25Participant6 posts21 April 2022 at 16:21:27 #933711The gov. website has been update and states: The entry restrictions currently in place will be lifted from 2 May. As of that date, the usual rules for entering Switzerland will apply.
AnnikaModerator7124 posts22 April 2022 at 9:15:41 #933712Indeed Frances25, it’s also confirmed by SEM now :-)!
AnnikaModerator7124 posts22 April 2022 at 9:18:19 #933713It would actually be nice to see your happy dances, luvmystang and Chris C ;-)! We too are very pleased with these new developments, and we hope that corona-related entry restrictions will no longer be necessary from now on.
Theresa_blocParticipant13 posts9 May 2022 at 10:13:43 #933714Hi,
We will be spending 15 days in Switzerland in July and then flying return from Zurich to Vienna for 7 days. We have a Schengen visa and are fully vaccinated. Is there any travel restrictions/requirements for travel between Switzerland and Austria for non EU travelers?
Thank you
Theresa
AnnaModerator6382 posts9 May 2022 at 13:36:45 #933715Hi Theresa bloc,
If you are travelling to Austria, you should check with the Austrian travel authority about the latest entry requirements for non-EU citizens.
You can find some details here: http://www.oesterreich.gv.at/en/themen/coronavirus_in_oesterreich/pre-travel-clearance.html, but if you need further clarification, you should contact them directly.
Regards,
Anna

Thanks!
AnnaModerator6382 posts24 May 2022 at 9:22:33 #933717Hi Samuelxchang,
There are no longer any pandemic-related travel restrictions in Switzerland. Normal entry rules apply now 🙂

Heart_VoyageParticipant99 posts24 May 2022 at 13:29:59 #933719Hi Anna,
I am sorry this is a little off topic… We are traveling by TGV train from Basel – Paris this June. We are fully vaccinated. Do you know if we need to fill out the Passenger Locator Form to enter France by train?
Thank you.
Thy
AnnaModerator6382 posts24 May 2022 at 14:28:24 #933720Hi Thy,
Yes, I think you may still need to fill out a form to enter France.
You can find more information here: http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/coming-to-france/

Heart_VoyageParticipant99 posts24 May 2022 at 18:11:00 #933721Hi Anna,
Thank you for the link. I went on and check out this link and also contacted SNCF Connect and no Passenger Locator Form required for people entering France by train, but it is required for people entering by air. I just want to share this.
As always, you are a huge help to us to plan our trips. I can’t thank you enough.

ArnoModerator15484 posts25 May 2022 at 12:51:21 #933723Hi Samuelxchang,
No, there are no monkeypox-related travel restrictions. If such measures are announced, we’ll post updates in the forum. At the moment case numbers are low and there’s no problem for traveling. Let’s hope it will stay that way :-)!
SamuelxchangParticipant30 posts25 May 2022 at 15:49:46 #933724Thank you, Arno!

AlignsankarParticipant10 posts7 July 2022 at 10:06:53 #933726We are arriving in Switzerland next and will be proceeding to Venice. Would anybody be able to let know if there are currently any requirements / restrictions for travelling from Switzerland to Venice for Non-EU citizens. Everyone in our group is an Indian Passport holder.
Thanks
