Hi. I used the timetable as recommended and what I saw upon choosing the preferred travelling time is:
1×point to point, half fare travel card chf15.
Does this mean if I do not have a half fare travel card I need to pay chf 30 to get form Zurich to lucerne?

Yes, that is correct! The SBB timetable shows the half fare card prices by default, as most Swiss residents hold an annual version. So you need to double the price you find in order to get the regular point-to-point price.
