My boyfriend seems to think that you can travel within a city on a tram or bus for free with the pass, but not use one of your travel days. He thinks it only counts for train rides ect. Is this correct? Or does any sort of use count as a day?

    Thanks.

    Hi saucybrahmin,

It’s not the traveling that determines whether a day is used up. You make that choice before you start traveling. You need to enter the date on the pass, and then you can board city transport, boats, trains, buses, etc. The mode of transport does not matter. You can’t use any transportation if you don’t fill out a day of travel on the pass.

Optionally you can add a Swiss Half Fare Card to the pass, to allow discounted traveling on non-travel days.

All the details are explained on myswissalps.com/ swisstravelpassflex.

Note that in most cases, the consecutive pass works out cheaper. Doing the math will show if that applies to your plans as well.
