Forwarding luggage
-
Well we have received our passes for early July travel!!!! The excitement grows and we need to shout out to Arno for all the care and advice that got us this far.
I have read about the amazing service of forwarding luggage whilst enjoying rail travel. We would of course have a day bag of overnight necessities to hold us over if luggage did not arrive until the next day. Here are our details and questions.
Arrival:
Leave Gare de Lyon Friday July 4 and arrive Basel 13:30. Would it be possible to forward bags to Wengen for pickup at station on Saturday? And what time would they be available? The reasoning behind this is we are staying in a self catering chalet in Wengen and would like to do some shopping at COOP Interlaken Ost before proceeding. Does this seem reasonable?
Departure:
Our flight back to the states is Sunday July 13 at 11:30. We know the fast luggage right onto the airline is not possible with a flight to USA but we plan to travel to Zurich July 12 and stay overnight for our morning flight. We would likely leave Wengen at around 10:00. Would it be possible to forward the bags for pickup at airport the following morning by 9:oo? Or would we need to send the luggage ahead on Friday to be certain we could retrieve it by 9:00 on Sunday. The fees seem nominal for the service and the convenience is amazing. Is arrival at train station in airport by 9:00(I understand that is what time luggage counter opens) give enough time to collect bags, get into airport and through security for an 11:30 flight?
Danke,
