My wife and I want to travel from Geneva airport to Grindelwald on 21/1/18 and return on 27/1/18. What is our best rail pass option?

Hi hwtone and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

If you are just going direct to Grindelwald and then back to Geneva Airport the Swiss Transfer Ticket (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstransferticket) will save you a little against full-fare tickets. Not big saving.

If you are staying in the Jungfrau Region you might want to look at the Jungfrau Travel Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/ju ngfrautravelpass).

The other options would be a 8-day Swiss Travel Pass, a 4-day Swiss Travel Pass Flex or a Swiss Half-Fare Card. (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw issrailpasses)

You really need to work out how much travel you will do over and above getting to and from Grindelwald to figure out which would be best.

If you are planning to visit Jungfraujoch the Jungfrau Travel Pass gets you the lowest price. The Swiss Half-Fare Card provides 50% discount from Grindelwald and the Swiss Travel Pass 25% discount.

    Hi hwtone,

The only way to know the best rail pass for your itinerary is to do the math.
Plan out all your trips that you will take within Switzerland and use our spreadsheet to help you with the math comparison between rail passes (noted by Rockoyster) and buying individual tickets. This sheet can be found on our page: How to choose the best rail pass.
