Doing a river cruise ending in Basel on December 12, then would like to go to Lucerne followed by a 3 day trip on the Glacier Express. Finally flying home from Zurich. Will the Express be running then?

In 2019 it recommenced for winter on 15 December (a Sunday). It will be mid December this year but not sure of exact date. If it restarts on a Sunday that will be 12 or 19 December. I’d guess 12 December is most likely.

Might I add that Luzern is not the ideal place to commence a journey on the Glacier Express – especially if you plan to do the whole Zermatt to St Moritz thing.
