Hello,

it is my very first time in Switzerland. My wife and I are visiting for our 25th year anniversary. I wonder if anyone can help with these questions:

1- Is glacier express operating form October 8th – 14th ?.

2- I realize that there are many ways to take train to MIlan, Italy but what city in Switzerland that would be the shortest and direst train ride?.

1. The Glacier Express does not run after 11 October.

2. Lugano? How about giving us some clues on your proposed itinerary? Or pick any city you like and figure out how long it will take to get to Milan by checking timetables using information at http://www.myswissalps.com/forum/topic/checking-train-timetables.

Chiasso is the closest town to Milano – the border town next to Como. Lugano is the nearest City.

Consult any map and you will see that Canton Ticino is the closest part of Switzerland to Milan
