    Previous thread: http://www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/itinerary-help-for-22-nov-25-nov

    So next week is hear already! I am mostly done with my planning – but still wanted to get your thoughts on my proposed itinerary.

    Arriving: 22 November Morning

    Have:Saver Day Pass

    Thinking about:

    1) Take the train from Zurich AIrport to Domodossola. Have lunch, look around. (Small, border-ish town feel really got our attention…)

    2) After lunch Domodossola -> Zermatt

    Staying: Alpenhof Hotel Zermatt (half board)

    23 November

    Have: Nothing

    Thinking about:

    1) Weather permitting, Try Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and restaurants up in the mountain (full price since we are not getting half price this time)

    2) Weather not permitting, sauna, swim, relax

    Staying: Alpenhof Hotel Zermatt (half board)

    24 November

    Have:Saver Day Pass

    Thinking about:

    7:37AM Zermatt ->Visp

    9:08AM Visp -> Andermatt

    11:28AM Andermatt-> Disentis

    12:44AM Disentis -> Chur (2PM arrival)

    Eventually Chur -> Zurich

    Staying: Kameha Grand Zurich. Meet up with friends in Zurich.

    25 November

    Relax, walk a little, buy a single ticket to the airport then 1pM flight.

    I would love to get your input in this. Thank you 🙂

    Hi Samanthaa,

    Seems good to me. On day 1 I’d explore a town like Brig over Domodossola (I found Brig a lot more scenic than Domodossola). http://www.myswissalps.com/br ig

    You can read about a weekend trip I made to the Blausee and Brig here for more details as well: http://www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/blausee-and-brig-2-days-1-night

    Also, if the weather in Zermatt looks good on day 1 I’d go straight there to try a mountain trip (in case on day 2 the weather looks poor).

    Thanks so much Lucas 🙂

    And I should resist the temptation of “5% discount if bought in advance” promo for the Matterhorn glacier paradise right? haha.

    Hi Lucas,

    On our first day, it looks like we are arriving at ZRH at 09:40 .

    Looking at the train connection, looks like the earliest we’d get into Zermatt is is 14:14. Can you still go up to Matterhorn (weather permitting) at that hour/ will we have enough time?

    Day 2 (this Friday) looks like all snow.

    Thank you 🙂

    Sam

    You can’t go up the Matterhorn. Do you mean Gornergrat or Klein Matterhorn?

    1. http://www.myswissalps.com/go rnergrat
    2. http://www.myswissalps.com/kl einmatterhorn

    You can check the timetable to see about connections. http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

    Last trip down is usually around 17:00/17:30 for both mountains.
