    Hi SwissAlps team,

I want to book two tickets on the Goldenpass for 9th of May 2018

How far in advance can I book reserved seats? the website “reservations.mob.ch" does not work for that date at the moment.

Also , I read on a much earlier thread that it is possible to book first class for this train trip even though I will have a second class travel pass. A fee will need to be paid at the departure station to cover the upgrade in class. Is this fee payable for each leg booked in first class? eg Luzern to Interlaken Ost, then Interlaken Ost to Zwisimmen, then Zweisimmen to Montreux.

Lastly , I understand part of the Zweisimmen-Montreux leg will be by bus on the day of our travel. How does that effect the reservation system for that leg?

    thankyou for this forum

    Hi Cathiedel, welcome to MySwissAlps!

You’ll find links to booking websites on this page. You can generally book months in advance there (at least 3 months, but mostly much more). The site you mentioned is the one of the train operator and may indeed have a limitation of 2-3 months. What’s your travel date? If it’s indeed during the reconstruction period, then don’t bother to book a seat on the Zweisimmen to Montreux leg: http://www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/getting-to-paris-from-montreux-via-golden-pass

If you have a 2nd class Swiss Travel Pass, you can upgrade to 1st class for any leg you wish. You don’t have to upgrade for the entire route. Just go the a ticket window at any staffed station in Switzerland, show your pass, and explain for which leg you’d like to upgrade.

You won’t be able to reserve seats on the 9 May. The bus is only on a short leg after Montbovon. See Golden Pass Line changes and construction work (http://www.mystsnet.com/en/ne ws/bauarbeiten-mob-strecken/) (http://www.mystsnet.com/filea dmin/doc/01_News/Const ruction_works_MOB.pdf)

Hi, I try to book two Golden Rail Line seats for June 30, 2018 from Zweisimmen to Montreux through sbb, but the purchasing tickets button does not response at all. I filtered the ticket search as Lucerne to Montreux via Bruenig-Hasliberg and via Gstaad at 07:00AM on June 30, 2018. I see the available train list, but I can’t buy. Does anyone know if it is too early to reserve seats for June 30th, 2018? I know there are construction work, but should be open on June 30, 2018. Thanks!

Hi alps2018 and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

You can’t reserve seats more than 90 days out from your travel date. On SBB you can generally only buy tickets 30 days out.

Are you planning to use any sort of travel pass? Maybe you don’t need tickets, only reservations which you can read about here http://www.mob.ch/en/reservat ion-procedure.

See also “How to choose the best travel pass” (http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass).

It would be good if you could start a new thread for any further questions.
