We would appreciate any information about staying in Wengen as a base and hiking experiences from there and around the area. We are planning on being in Switzerland the first week of September and plan to hike/experience this beautiful place for about 9 days. Yes, we do plan to purchase a Swiss Travel Pass, but we are also wondering if we will still have to pay some costs to ride specific buses or cable cars or gondolas. Any information about your hiking experiences during this time of the year near Wengen would be very helpful.

Hi BandA and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Take a look at our Wengen information page. It has a lot of useful details such as popular activities in the area as well as your hiking options there.

Also, take a look at our page on the Swiss Travel Pass which will show you what is included and what isn't and how to buy it.

I'm sure other members who have been to Wengen can chime in on their personal preferences as well.

I hope this helps get your trip planning started!

Lucas
