Me and my wife plan to arrive at zurich on 19th April, afternoon. Our plan is as follows :

19th April – Zurich to Chur – stay in Chur

20th April – Bernina Express – Return to Lucerene, stay in Lucerene

20th – 22nd – 2 nights – Lucerene (in and around sight seeing pls suggest not to be missed ones)

22nd – 25th – 3 nights – Wengen (relax – just stay in a hotel with good views – Any good suggestion – appreciate some tips about selecting the best room are also provided for the property suggested)

    25th – 27th – 2 Nights – Interlaken (explore – alps & go around – appreciate a good suggestion)

27th – Return to Zurich and fly out

Pls suggest whether we should take rental car, train, rail pass, half discount promo and places we must visit. Any good deals other than from the rail pass we can get / buy ?

We are from india, and would also like to explore different cuisines.. v both are vegetarians – (we dont eat meat, fish, chicken… all other stuff we consume :)), if some must not miss restaurants are suggested it will be great. atleast for couple f days we would like spicy indian food as well during our entire trip.

thanks in advance for all the guidance

Hi Venkir and welcome to MySwissAlps!

It is best for you to read through our information pages on the Swiss towns you plan to visit. On these pages you will find recommend activities (what to do tab) and recommended hotels (hotels tab).

Zurich, Bernina Express, Luzern (local German spelling), Wengen, Interlaken

If you have specific questions on anything don’t hesitate to ask!

I would suggest using trains and public transit in Switzerland over a rental car. An 8 day Swiss Travel Pass can be bought and printed at home for you to use when you are here. This means no more tickets are required to be purchased – just hop on any train, bus or boat whenever you want! The are one or two exceptions to this and they can be found listed here under the Swiss Travel Pass validity page. These include attractions like the Jungfraujoch where the ticket from Wengen is discounted for you by 25% if you have the Swiss Travel Pass.

I know you can find good Indian restaurants and vegetarian options in Zurich but it doesn’t look like you are here for long? Perhaps other members know specific options in other towns. Also it will be helpful to visit each towns tourism website for more details like restaurants etc.

    Regards,
    Lucas
