My fiancee will be completing are honeymoon in Switzerland and I am really torn on where to stay. I can’t decide between somewhere in Interlaken or Lake Lucerne.

I really would like to do to rail trip to the Jungfraujoch that leaves from Interlaken thats why Im leaning towards Interlaken.

We will be coming from Nice on Monday morning and I am not entirely sure how to get into Switzerland just yet either..

What options do we have for hiking if we stay in Interlaken? Is Lauterbrunnen a good option?

thank you for any help you can provide.

Welcome fo the forum hogasean. Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen or a similar nearby town would be a great option. These are central locations with lots of hiking options. Some are listed in the Bernese Oberland hiking overview. This forum topic on Interlaken versus Lauterbrunnen is interesting for you I think; it might help you decide where to stay.

As for planning your trip: the timetable provides details on all connections in, from and to Switzerland. You can see options for your inbound trip from Nice to the Interlaken region too. In case you’re still looking for hotels: this list of hotels in Interlaken and other towns may be of help.

    Have a wonderful honeymoon!
