Is a swiss pass discount applicable on Good Morning tour offered to Jungfraujoch while booking online http://www.jungfrau.ch. Also, is this the only site to book tickets for the trip? Do we need to reserve seats separately or is the reservation covered in the rate specified?

Hello Harsha, and welcome here! The Good Morning ticket is for people who don’t have a rail pass, so there are no further discounts with your Swiss Pass. You can best use your Swiss Pass and get a 25% discount on the regular ticket price.

Tickets don’t have to be purchased in advance, but if you want to, you can do so through the Jungfraujoch website or through the SBB website. The same goes for seat reservations. They’re not required, but if you want to arrange for them in advance you can do so through the Jungfraujoch website. An additional fee of CH 10.00 is charged for seat reservation.

Hey Annika, thanks for your quick reply. We are a family of four with two boys aged 13 years & 8 years. We plan to take the train to Jungfrau on 24th July Sunday. I understand this is peak season & therefore wanted to book the tickets online. Do you still recommend that I buy the tickets in the station which actually suits me better.

Our travel plans are as below:

21/7 Arrive in Lucerne by noon and visit the Swiss Transport museum
22/7 Visit Pilatus, Siel Rope Park & Toboggan in Frakigaudi.
23/7 Tour Lucerne town and leave for Grindelwald in the afternoon. (we are staying in Grindelwald for 4 nights)
24/7 Jungfrau & Trummel bach falls
25/7 Ballenburg musuem near Brienz & Interlaken twon
26/7 First & hike to Bachalpssy lake
27/7 Free time in the morning nad travel to Zermatt in the afternoon.
    28/7 Gornetgratbahn matterhorn
29/7 Glacier Express to St Moritz
    30/7 Free time in St.Moritz
31/7 Free time and afternoon to Zurich
    1/8 & 2/8 – Touring in and around Zurich

Can you please review the itinerary and advise if we have paced it right? We would like some advise on things to do in Zermatt, St.Moritz & Zurich considering that we have to keep our boys engaged :-).

Hello Harsha. If you’d like to purchase your tickets at the spot, that’s fine. It is peak season indeed, but many trains will run up to the Jungfraujoch, and extra ones will be used if there are lots of tourists. You can also choose to buy your tickets in Grindelwald for example one day ahead, if you know for sure that weather will be fine.

As for your itinerary: it’s quite a lot, but it’s a great travel scheme if you want to explore as much of Switzerland as possible. Please review the day trip overviews of Graubünden and Wallis for tips on activities during your stay in St. Moritz and Zermatt, and (for example) this forum topic on Zurich. Did you check the timetable already? It can be of great help, as it gives exact overviews of traveling times.
