Munich – Lucern in Sept

In Sept we are travelling from Munich to Lucern and wish to do it in one day. The 8.28am departure on ICE 690 looks about right (via Ulm, into Schaffhausen at 12.14pm).

As we will hold Swiss passes I assume we only need to book Munich – Schaffhausen, and then the passes take over ?

If we catch the 12.40pm departure from Schaffhausen to Zurich that will give us 26 minutes to change trains in Schaffhausen and validate our passes – will this be enough time ??

    Any advice appreciated, thank you.

    Hi helenfrank,

That’s correct, you only need tickets to Schaffhausen. 26 minutes is plenty of time to validate your passes. But you can also ask the train staff of the train to Schaffhausen to do so. That way you don’t need to spend time on that in Schaffhausen and you should be able to catch the 12:18 PM train to Zurich on your way to Lucerne.

Please see here for where to best buy your passes.
