After you arrive in Basel in the afternoon of May 8, you have to count with another 1 hour 15 min. or so, to reach Lucerne. So, maybe there's not enough time left for a longer trip, like visiting Mount Titlis
You can check all information about departures, traveling times, where to change trains and prices through the Swiss Timetable
. Maybe you'll have time enough to visit Mount Rigi instead? Lucerne
is a beautiful city and it would be a pity if you don't visit the Chapel Bridge near the main railway station.
Please note there's a Lucerne page
at this website.
I suggest that you visit Jungfraujoch on May 9, if weather conditions are good. Traveling times included, it will take you most part of the day.
If, on the other hand, you decide to visit Mount Titlis that day, you could combine it with Mount Pilatus
In most cases it pays off to purchase one of the Swiss Rail Passes
. Maybe the best option is to order (only online available) the 2 for 1 offer of the 4 day Swiss Saver Pass
, but you can also check the Half Fare Card.
It depends on your final itinerary and you'll have to do some calculations
for yourself, to find out which will be the better choice.
I hope this helps and I wish you a very nice stay!
