    Hi,

We will be renting a car in France and returning it in Belgium, but we will also spend a week or more more traveling through Switzerland. Will we need to purchase the vignette at the border, or are cars with foreign license plates, including rentals, exempt?

    Thanks,

    Bruno

    Hi Bruno,

Unless the rental car happens to have a vignette from a previous hirer, you need to get one. You can buy it at the border, or online, so you can use the quicker lane for cars with a vignette.

    Enjoy your holidays!
