    Hi all,

Switzerland will celebrate its national holiday on Sunday August 1. This overview shows which festivities are available, including locations and times: http://www.watson.ch. It’s in German, but I hope its still useful for those of you who are in Switzerland on August 1.

This is very helpful, thank you. We will be in Zermatt for 1August and I see it’s not mentioned here. I also can’t tell from their website if they will have the meals in the streets type event this year. Has anybody heard?

    Hi Xpresso,

I’m not sure if there will be a street party in Zermatt on Aug 1st. Have a look at the details here: http://www.zermatt.ch/en/Events/Top-Events/The-Major-Festival-Switzerland-s-National-Holiday-in-Zermatt

The National Day celebration starts at the Leisee lake on Sunegga. I think that’s worth checking out.

    Regards,

    Anna
