    Hi Snehap-

The cableway from Weggis to Rigi Kaltbad, which could be used as part of one answer to #2, will be closed for maintenance during that part of May.

1.- 0915. The top station is “Kulm” not Klum.

2.-Yes. There are several possibilities, which can be understood by using the SBB timetable, which also shows the schedules for the lake boats and the cableways used for public transportation:

    http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

This link also is very helpful:

    http://www.myswissalps.com/pi latus

The cograil to Pilatus Kulm from Alpnachstad is operating on those days in May. (Answer to #3.)

You can come down from Pilatus to Alpnachstad by cograil, or to Kriens via cableway.

From Kriens, go to Luzern by bus.

Then boat to Vitznau, or train to Arth Goldau.

Or, from Alpnachstad, go by train or lake boat to Luzern, then onwards as noted.

Once in either Arth-Goldau or Vitznau, take the cograil to Rigi Kulm.

Those journeys take roughly 3 hours.

Also, this website gives the details of the lakeboat routes and schedules:

    http://www.lakelucerne.ch/en/ timetable-fares/timetable/

Scroll down for the correct seasonal time table. Use the Spring Timetable.

In May, it is not possible to go by boat(s) directly to Vitznau from Alpnachstad.

It appears that you can only take boats from Alpnachstad, via Kehrsiten-Bürgenstock , change, and continue by boat to Vitznau on the Summer schedule, after July 31. Then, there are two boats at 0914 and 1017 from Kehrsiten-Bürgenstock to Vitznau. The one at 0914 runs daily from August 1, the one at 1017 runs on Sundays and Holidays from August 1.

    Hi Snehap-

Please use the SBB timetable that I linked you to earlier. Start from Alpnachstad and finish at Pilatus Kulm. Test for any date and time of day that you are concerned with.

    Hi Snehap,

The timetable indicates 09:15 is the first departure and the last departure down on May 6 is 22:40 and on May 7, 8 and 9 it is 20:00.

Again you should inquire in Luzern before leaving for the cogwheel in case of changes due to weather conditions (the mountains got a lot of snow yesterday).

    Thank you guys

    1) where should i check whether cogwheel for both rigi n pilatus is working or no. At lucerne boat station? Any tourist office other than station or at the hotel desk.

    2) I have bought swiss pass and will taken golden pass line with no reservation. hope this is fine.

    3) what about pilatus coghwheel is it operating. Do i need to confirm if its working before boarding the boat.

    Hi snehap-

We have answered those questions in the earlier posts.

    However, to repeat, or refine:

1.- The tourist info by track #1 in Luzern main station is by far the best place for all kinds of information.

2.- Fine. If you wish to get in one of the special cars, nice but far from necessary, you should reserve.

    http://www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass/tickets

However, you will have excellent views from any of the trains along the Golden Pass route with no reservations in the “ordinary” trains.

3.- it will be working working. You do not need to reconfirm. Any doubts, ask at the tourist info by track #1 in Luzern main station.
