We are travelling with a car in the Swiss alps and north Italy (starting and ending at Milan)

We are driving to and staying 4 nights at Isenfluh (near Lauterbrunnen, Jungfrau)

And another night in our place of choice on our way Back to Italy (could be Tasch near Zermatt or something else)

We must have the car because we can physically walk only short distances

We would like to do a ROUND scenic train one day. not too expensive, just to get the vibe. What are our options?

Also, should we buy some train pass for our trip? except this scenic ride we will probably just do some cable cars in Jungfrau.. and maybe the short cheap rides from Tasch to Zermatt area

    Welcome to MySwissAlps Trikolad!

Most people with a car buy the Swiss Half Fare Card to get discounts on day trips by trains, boats, cable cars, etc. You find all details on myswissalps.com/ swisshalffarecard.

All train trips can be round trips, either by taking the same route back or another route. You’ll have to change trains in any case. From Lauterbrunnen, a nice trip would be Lauterbrunnen – Interlaken – Zweisimmen – Montreux (Golden Pass line) – Brig – local train via Kandersteg to Spiez – Interlaken – Lauterbrunnen. Part of the Glacier Express route is an option as well. Both will be long days.
