Hi, my husband and I are going to Switzerland in 2 months time. We plan to get a Swiss Pass as it is useful according to most of the reviews we have read. Will be glad if we can get some advice on the trip.

    1. We will arrive at Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport and intend to travel to Zurich when we reach the airport. Is the travel route from the airport to Zurich covered by the Swiss pass?

    2. We are planning to have Mount Rigi, Mount Titlis and Mount Schilthorn excursions during our stay in Switzerland. Are these excursions included in Swiss Pass as well?

Will Swiss Pass covers the routes for:
    A. Lucerne – Mount Rigi
    B. Lucerne – Engelberg – Mount titlis
    C. Lucerne – Zermatt
    D. Zermatt – Interlaken
    E. Interlaken – Mount Schilthorn

    3. For the boat trips on lakes in Switzerland, will we be also entitled to free ride with Swiss Pass? We plan to visit Lake Thun, Lake Breinz, and Lake Lucerne.

    Thanks. 🙂

    Hi Stephanie,

You can best click the highlighted link on the Swiss Pass page to check out the covered network. Almost any Swiss public transport is included, either for free or discounted. All trips you listed are included: the regular trains, buses and boats are free (and Rigi as well), and the mountain transportation is 50% discounted.

Please feel free to get back here if you have other questions!

    Hi,

Thanks for the info. 🙂 So, are all the connections (buses, trains…) shown in the timetable from SBB (http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstimetable.asp?lang=EN) covered under Swiss Pass?

    Thanks.:-)

Yes, if it is a route shown on the network map (which is almost anything), it is. The map shows whether it’s free or discounted.

Hi. I noticed that there is a pass called Swiss Card, which covers a round trip from airport or Swiss border to resort in Switzerland. Does it mean that the route from airport to resort is only covered by Swiss Card? Or we can still take public transport from airport to our resort in the first stop (in our case, Zurich) by using our Swiss Pass?

    Thanks. ^.^

    Hi Stephanie,

Don’t worry, routes are not exclusive to particular passes. A Swiss Pass covers the ride from the airport to Zurich as well.
