Routes covered by Swiss Pass
A couple is planning a trip to Switzerland in 2 months, arriving at Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport and heading to Zurich. They are looking for advice on whether the Swiss Travel Pass covers their travel routes and excursions, including visits to Mount Rigi, Mount Titlis, and Mount Schilthorn, as well as boat trips on Swiss lakes.
- The Swiss Travel Pass covers transport from the airport to Zurich, so you can use it for that trip.
- Regular trains, buses, and boats for your excursions are free with the Swiss Travel Pass, while mountain transport is 50% off.
- Most routes shown on the network map are included, either for free or at a discount, so check that for coverage.
- You can enjoy free rides on boats for Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, and Lake Lucerne with the Swiss Travel Pass.

Hi, my husband and I are going to Switzerland in 2 months time. We plan to get a Swiss Pass as it is useful according to most of the reviews we have read. Will be glad if we can get some advice on the trip.
1. We will arrive at Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport and intend to travel to Zurich when we reach the airport. Is the travel route from the airport to Zurich covered by the Swiss pass?
2. We are planning to have Mount Rigi, Mount Titlis and Mount Schilthorn excursions during our stay in Switzerland. Are these excursions included in Swiss Pass as well?
Will Swiss Pass covers the routes for:
A. Lucerne – Mount Rigi
B. Lucerne – Engelberg – Mount titlis
C. Lucerne – Zermatt
D. Zermatt – Interlaken
E. Interlaken – Mount Schilthorn3. For the boat trips on lakes in Switzerland, will we be also entitled to free ride with Swiss Pass? We plan to visit Lake Thun, Lake Breinz, and Lake Lucerne.
Thanks. 🙂
