The last time I was in Switzerland, I had a Swiss Travel Pass

I was using the SBB Mobile application on my mobile phone to make directions.

Although I had free rides, I often had to go to the window at the station and ask for a free ticket, e.g. from Fiesch to Fiescheralp, from Betten to Bettmeralp

Has it changed?

And another thing:

In SBB Mobile, I could not buy tickets for half price (e.g. to Gornergrat, First), because it was not possible to enter the Swiss Travel Pass parameters in the application, so again I had to go to the window at the station.

Has it changed?

Hi Red155,

The app is handy to find train schedules but otherwise not a requirement for Swiss Travel Pass holders. Indeed, the app is geared to residents and the tourist Swiss Travel Pass is not part of it.

Online tickets for cableways for Swiss Travel Pass/Swiss Half Fare Card holders are slowly becoming available on various websites. The ones we know about are linked from our mountain pages: www.myswissalps.com/activities/naturalsites/mountains

For example, you can get tickets to Grindelwald-First here: https://www.swissactivities.com/en-ch/grindelwald-first-ticket-from-grindelwald/. And Gornergrat here: https://www.swissactivities.com/en-ch/ticket-gornergrat-bahn-from-zermatt/.

Enjoy your trips!
