I am confused as to how much it costs to take the round trip train from Wideswil to Schnige Platte. If we have a Swiss Card, to we get a discount on this train? Or is it a private train and we have to pay full fare? How much would that be? Also, when do the trips from Wideswil go up and how many every hour?

    Hello j.napoli,

The normal price for a return ticket Wilderswil – Schynige Platte is CHF 60,-. The Swiss Card will give you a 50% discount as you can see here, clicking on “Overview of the network on which the Swiss Card is valid”.

The timetable will show you when trains leave from Wilderswil or Schynige Platte.

    Enjoy, it’s beautiful up there!

Thanks so much. This makes it so much more affordable.
Is it necessary to reserve ahead of time for two seats?

    Hello j. napoli,

Reservations for Schynige Platte from Wilderswil will not be necessary. It’s a good idea though to be there in time as these trains tend to be rather full when the weather is nice and it’s high season.

Have a nice trip! You will love it…
