    Hi,

I am travelling to Switzerland and other West European countries in May. Are you able to offer any advice on whether there are any SIM cards or calling cards available which I can use across all these countries?

    Thanks,
    Chetan

Hi Chetan. There are several solutions, such as software services (Vopium for example) and SIM card providers (CallInEurope, OneSimCard or Roam Simple for example). As for calling in Switzerland: this forum topic and this one provide some tips.

    Thanks Annika.

One more question. Are American Express Traveler Cheques widely accepted in Switzerland? Would I be able to encash these cheques at the tourist spots like Mt. Titlis etc.?

    Regards,
    Chetan

Hello Chetan. I’m not sure about the traveler cheques, although I guess they’re accepted at many locations. The American Express website may offer more information.

Not very, we wouldn’t take them for payment and I don’t think many smaller places would. Cashing them might be easier, I beleive the Swiss post offices will cash them for you and there’s loads of them.
