    Hi mike93,

The Swiss Half Fare Card is only valid in Switzerland. You will get some reduction for the portion of the trip taken in Switzerland but no reduction on the French leg. For instance if you are travelling from Zurich to Paris via Basel, the route from Zurich to Basel is discounted but Basel to Paris won’t be discounted as this is considered a wholly French route.

You can find further information about travel and tickets to France here: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/france

    Regards,

    Anna

It wholly depends on what else you will be doing. If you will already have a half fare card for a trip within Switzerland, it would give you a discount but as Anna says only on Zurich – Basel (quite a short distance)
