Hello everyone!

I am trying to determine the best railpass to purchase for my honeymoon next month. I’ll post our itinerary and if anyone has any suggestions/reccomendations, I would be so grateful!

Day 1: Arrive in Zermatt from Milan. Stay the night in Zermatt.

Day 2: Explore Zermatt. Stay the night.

Day 3: Travel to Montreux. Stay the night.

Day 4: Explore Montreux. Stay the night.

Day 5: Travel to Interlaken region, stay the night in Murren.

Day 6: Explore Murren/go on Via Ferrata adventure. Stay the night.

Day 7: Explore Lauterbrunnen *or any other suggestion you may have for somewhere in this area* Stay the night.

Day 8: Head back to Milan.

Additional info: We are flying in and out of Milan from the US, so it is the only Italian city we will explore. For this reason, a multi-country pass may not be necessary.

On Day 8 consider returning to Milan via Luzern and Lugano. Use the SBB Timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to plan your travel. If you are not familiar with using the timetable it will pay to first read the instructions on that page.

Hi Lorenzo,

For your itinerary I would bet for sure the Swiss Travel Pass is your best bet. You can also buy the Swiss Travel Pass online (https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ price). It can be emailed to you and printed at home (saving you time at the airport and giving you a copy to print out again in case you lose your pass).

Rockoyster’s link for the spreadsheet will tell you for sure which rail pass is the most economical though to be 100% sure.

You’ll need to also buy tickets from Milan to Domodossola (Swiss-Italian border town) on your way to Zermatt (and from Chiasso if you come back via Lugano). you can buy those tickets online here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/traintickets/ita ly
