Can anyone let me know if the Swiss Pass get me free travel from Stechelberg to the top of Schilthorn. We are wanting to get off along the way to look around. I can see that the pass includes travel from Murren up tp Schilthorn but cant see if it includes from stechelberg to Gimmelwald to Murren to Birg and beyond.

Do we just turn up to the station and show our passes? nothing needs to be pre booked?

Am I also correct in thinking that there is no additional cost for the thrill walk at Birg with the Pass?

    Hello Sami,

It’s all covered by the Swiss Travel Pass including Thrill Walk. (see map at http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity)

At Mürren you will need to wave your pass at the ticket office to get a free ticket to travel on the Schilthorn leg.

I seem to remember you have to do this at Stechelberg (if starting from there) i.e. get a free card with a magnetic strip to operate the turnstile before boarding the cable car.

    Hi Alpenrose,

    You may well be right.

I went up to Mürren via Grütschalp and the down to Stechelberg (without visiting Schilthorn). On the way down we just waved you STPs at the cable car driver on boarding at Mürren. I remember seeing a turnstile at the entrance to the Schilthorn cable car but there was not one prior to heading down to Stechelberg.

Where can I find details about the Thrill Walk (prices and coverage in STP or BO pass?)

On a more general note, is there a place where there is a list of activities covered in these passes?

    Thanks!

    Hi Chandni,

The page Rockoyster gave you along with http://www.myswissalps.com/re gionalpassberneseoberl and/validity allows you to compare both passes. You’ll find maps and lists of activities/destinations there.

    Yes, that works.

We also have details on all Swiss rail passes, including how to buy and their coverage areas/ validity here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/train/ticketspas ses

When you are on the passes web page that you want to examine just click the “where it’s valid” tab for a PDF map and list of activities.
