Swiss Travel Pass vs. Jungfrau Travel Pass
Hello, a traveler is planning a four-day trip to Switzerland in mid-July. They want to know if the Swiss Travel Pass covers travel from Interlaken to Jungfrau and if it’s more cost-effective to get the Jungfrau Travel Pass for their itinerary. They also have questions about train reservations for that route.
- The Swiss Travel Pass does cover travel from Interlaken to Jungfrau, so it is valid for those areas.
- Consider your overall travel plans to determine if the Jungfrau Travel Pass is better for you; it’s more region-specific than the Swiss Travel Pass.
- Train reservations from Interlaken to Jungfrau are not required but are optional for the segment from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch.
- Check the weather before booking tickets, and consider buying them on the day you go up for more flexibility.

Hello,
We are traveling to Switzerland during the middle of July and we will be there for around four days. We were going to travel throughout Switzerland via the Swiss travel pass but we read that the Swiss Travel pass does not cover the area from Interlaken to Jungfrau and the regions in between (i.e. Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen). We wanted to confirm if this was true. Another question we had was if it was cheaper to get the Jungfrau travel pass as we will be traveling from Interlaken Ost to Jungfrau and the other towns (i.e. Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen) on each of the four days? Also do we need a train reservation to go from Interlaken to Jungfrau?
