Hi,

we will stay in Lugano for 8 days. our plan in general is:

* The mountains (bre, tamaro, san salvatore and generoso- is it open?)

* lake cruising

* day trip to Bellinzona

* day trip to Locrano

* day trip in Bernina express train

which pass would you recommend for us- Swiss Half Fare Card or Swiss Travel Pass ?

thanks :)

Hi tourist,

It's indeed the two passes you mentioned which make sense. The Swiss Travel Pass will be most convenient as you don't have to buy tickets for each trip, but you will need to do the math to find out whether the Swiss Half Fare Card is cheaper. Be sure to include everything you plan to do, so also your transfers to and from Lugano, and museum visits (many are free with the Swiss Travel Pass). Both passes can be printed at home, but it takes 1-3 business days to receive them through e-mail, so be sure to order in time: www.swissrailways.com/ en.

Schedules of trains and cableways can be found in the timetable.
