    Hi

    more i research into travelling public transport in switzerland, more i confuse my self.

    all i want to know is can i get a one day travecard (i just want to go from geneva to lausanne by train and then lasuanne to Montreaux by steam boat on lake geneva, in one day) that covers my all aspect of my journey or does one day travelcard only cover trains and trams and so i have to buy boat ticket separately. I am going with my partner and three children under 10.

    also can you explain why i need half fare travelcard to get one day travelcard? or a 9am pass.

    I am only going to use public transport no more than 2 days. so i am trying to figure out affordable ways to travel without emptying my bank account.

    I can’t tell you exactly why Swiss railways insists you have the Swiss Half Fare Card before buying the One-day travel pass – but it does. 🙁

    For two adults and 3 children I would maybe look at the Swiss Half Fare Card along with the Swiss Family Card (especially if the children are 6 or older) but it might be a bit tough to save money or break even depending on how many trips you make in your two days here.     Point to point tickets may be the best option for you in the end. If you go this route you can also look for Supersaver tickets for your preferred trips.
