If you buy e.g. an 8 day flexipass, do you have to nominate beforehand which 8 days in the month you want to use the pass? Can you e.g. use it one day on a long journey, so getting good value from your pass, but then the next day, when you are only doing a short trip, NOT use it for a free trip but only get the 50% off component of the pass, so NOT using it as one of your 8 days? How does this work at the ticket office? Thanks, Ani

Hello Ani, and welcome to the forum!

You don’t have to enter the dates of the free travel days when you order a Swiss Flexi Pass. You can decide when to use those days when you’re in Switzerland. In most cases (it differs per country of residence), you don’t need to visit a ticket office at all. You can simply enter the desired date on the pass, according to the enclosed instructions, and board the train.

So, yes, you can use the Swiss Flexi Pass as per your example: you can use a free travel day on one particular day, just use the discount on the next day, and then use another free travel day on the following day, and so on.

Please note that the validity of the Swiss Flexi Pass starts at the first day of free travelling and ends after the last day of free travelling. So the days you can use it to get discounts need to be between this first and last day.

    Enjoy your traveling!
