I am looking at Chur to Bolzano / Bozen via Innsbruck and at this stage it looks like utilising Swiss Railways from Chur to Innsbruck (with a change at Sargens), and then Austrian Railways to Bolzano.
Would I be correct to assume that a Swiss rail pass would cover the journey from Chur right through to Innsbruck, from which point I’d need a separate Austrian Railways? Or would the pass only cover the sector to Sargens?

No, the Swiss Travel Pass is only available up to the ‘ticket border’ of Switzerland.
On the route to Innsbruck, this is Buchs SG. You would not be able to use a Swiss Travel Pass beyond Buchs SG.
Get daily forum questions & answers by e-mailThanks so much for that information. So if I use a pass to Buchs I’d buy a separate Swiss Railways ticket from Buchs SG to Innsbruck. That will help me calculate which pass to purchase if it is a borderline case in terms of numbers of days and/or which sectors to utilize on the pass and which to buy separately.
