Two questions:

Planning trip in late August including some hut-to-hut days.

Is a hiking trip from Zermatt to Hornli Hut for one night, hiking next to Schonbiel hut the next night and back to Zermatt a reasonable hike? We are very active hikers.

I read about contacting the huts for reservations; are they open now? Do they answer the phone during the day?

I’m not familiar with these hikes so I can’t help you here.

The Hörnlihütte takes reservations as of June 1 (http://www.hoernlihuette.ch/r eservation.html) and Schönbielhütte can be contacted for reservations (schoenbielhuette.ch/).
