    Hello,

We will be traveling to Interlaken region and staying in Lauterbrunnen in July. Of course, we would like to take the train up to Jungfraujoch. We will have a Swiss Travel Pass.

The jungfrau.ch lists the one way cost of a train ticket from Kleine Schedigg to JFJ at CHF93.00 with the Swiss Travel Pass. The sbb.ch site lists it at 62 full price (there is an option for Half-fare pass but not Swiss Travel Pass).

We’ve read that we shouldn’t buy the ticket until we’re sure of the weather, so we’ll wait to buy the ticket until we get there, but we were wondering how/where to buy the tickets to get the (much) lower price. Why is there such a differential in price? And we read that we can only get the Swiss Travel Pass discount if we buy in person, is that so?

Also, if we want to stop along the way at Eigerwand or Eismeet and see the view from the stations, do we need to buy multiple tickets (KS to Eigerwand, then Eigerwand to Eismeer, etc.)?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I see on jungfrau.ch only a price for Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfrau to Kleine Scheidegg at Chf 124,00

Whit Swiss Travel Pass is this Chf 62,00 (discount 50 %)

Every train up to Jungfrau have a stop on Eigerwand and Eismeer station. You can out of the train to see the vieuw. The train is waiting for you. It is not possible to stay on the station without train.

    Hi thelordsmurf, welcome to MySwissAlps!

CHF 93 is the correct price, as the pass grants a 25% discount on the full price of CHF 124. The SBB website lists CHF 62 because it shows the prices for Swiss citizens with a one year Half fare travelcard by default. It’s primarily a domestic website, so it does not show the tourist passes, but you can check train schedules there.

Are you planning to walk to Kleine Scheidegg? If not, note that the Swiss Travel Pass gets you a free ride to Wengen, and 25% off from there. A discounted return ticket costs CHF 127.50.

More details are here: myswissalps.com/ jungfraujoch/ tickets.

Thanks so much! We’ll plan for the 93.

Also, just to be clear, the trains stop at each interim station, so there is no need to buy tickets between interim stations, and we can’t or shouldn’t get off o none train and back on the next at Eismeer etc.?

    Thanks

Sorry, I think the discount was 50, but it is only 25 % when you have aSwiss Travel Pass.

See my post: You can not stay on Eigernordwand and Eismeer when the train depart from the station. The train is waiting some minutes to see the vieuw. You can do this whit the ticket Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch.

(A discount ticket for Chf 127,50 ……….For this price you can travel 14 days free travel on all buses, trains and Cablecars in Zillertall, Austria…….. Switserland is to expensieve for Europian people on this time).

Hi Arno, I did not understand on the Jungfraujoch train fare, so if we have Swiss Travel Pass, how much exactly we have to pay for a round trip. How and where we should buy the ticket. Since we are staying at Interlaken west, could we buy the Jungfraujoch train ticket at the interlaken west station ? If so is it better to purchase a round trip ticket or one way for Jungfraujoch since we are planning on taking different routes each way. Thanks, Chandra

    Hi Chandra,

You can go to the ticket office in Interlaken West, show your pass, and explain the route you intend to take. They will get you the right ticket. The discounted price is CHF 132.75.
