Price difference for Jungfraujoch train
A traveler is planning a trip to Lauterbrunnen and the Interlaken region in July, with plans to visit Jungfraujoch using a Swiss Travel Pass. They want to know how to purchase discounted tickets and if they need separate tickets for interim stops like Eigerwand and Eismeer.
- Buy your Jungfraujoch tickets at the ticket office in Interlaken West to use the Swiss Travel Pass discount.
- The Swiss Travel Pass gives a 25% discount on the Jungfraujoch ticket, so expect to pay around CHF 93 for a round trip.
- You can get off at Eigerwand and Eismeer without needing separate tickets; just remain on the train as it stops briefly for views.

Hello,
We will be traveling to Interlaken region and staying in Lauterbrunnen in July. Of course, we would like to take the train up to Jungfraujoch. We will have a Swiss Travel Pass.
The jungfrau.ch lists the one way cost of a train ticket from Kleine Schedigg to JFJ at CHF93.00 with the Swiss Travel Pass. The sbb.ch site lists it at 62 full price (there is an option for Half-fare pass but not Swiss Travel Pass).
We’ve read that we shouldn’t buy the ticket until we’re sure of the weather, so we’ll wait to buy the ticket until we get there, but we were wondering how/where to buy the tickets to get the (much) lower price. Why is there such a differential in price? And we read that we can only get the Swiss Travel Pass discount if we buy in person, is that so?
Also, if we want to stop along the way at Eigerwand or Eismeet and see the view from the stations, do we need to buy multiple tickets (KS to Eigerwand, then Eigerwand to Eismeer, etc.)?
Thanks!
