Hello everyone,
To get your questions answered quickly, please take a minute to read the below frequently asked questions and answers.
Which rail pass is best for me?
- The majority of travelers buys a Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card. To be 100% sure, you first need to have a complete itinerary. You can then compare passes and find out which is the cheapest option in your specific case.
What is included in my rail pass?
- All of our pass pages have a validity section which explains what’s covered for free and what’s discounted with your pass. For the Swiss Travel Pass you’ll find it here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/validity.
Where should I buy my rail pass?
- In most cases it is best to buy your pass online, get it delivered via e-mail, and store it on your mobile phone or print it at home. That’s convenient and safe, and it saves time as you can skip the queue and board your first train straight away. Each of our pass pages offers a list of trusted retailers. For the Swiss Travel Pass you’ll find it here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/price. More about where to buy passes is explained here: http://www.myswissalps.com/train/ticketspasses/practical/wheretobuy.
How do I find ticket prices for cable cars and mountain trains?
- Our timetable page explains how to find ticket prices. If it does not show the price you are looking for, then all of our mountain pages offer links to price lists, like here under “More information” on the Jungfraujoch page: http://www.myswissalps.com/jungfraujoch/tickets.
How do I book trains in Switzerland?

I purchased a rail pass: where can I ask questions about my order?

It is very likely one of the companies in our lists of trusted retailers, like here for the Swiss Travel Pass: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/price. Before you contact them, please check your e-mail spam folder: digital passes or other information concerning your purchase may have ended up there.

- Please enter your point of departure and arrival in the timetable.
I only have a few minutes to connect between trains, will that work?
- No problem, changing trains in minutes is part of the efficient transport system. Our timetable page explains this in more detail.
Will my train or cable car operate on the day I plan to be there?
- You can check the timetable for that. Also, all of our pages about panoramic trains and cable cars explain about the dates of operation in the route section of the page. Like here for the Glacier Express: http://www.myswissalps.com/glacierexpress/gettingthere.
