Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland

The Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland allows unlimited travelling by train, bus, boat, gondola, funicular and mountain train in the region Bernese Oberland on a number of days. Discounts apply on the remaining days. In many cases, this ticket is the most economical solution for people who frequently use gondolas and make a limited number of long distance train and bus trips. The Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland is valid for about all buses, but on some special routes, a surcharge (Alpine Ticket) or a seat reservation is required.



Features of the Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland

  • available from May to October;
  • valid for 7 or 15 days;
  • 3 days of free travelling (with a 7-day pass) or 5 days of free travelling (with a 15-day pass);
  • on the remaining days, a 50% discount applies on most train and bus trips, and on trips with many gondolas, funiculars and mountain trains;
  • with the Junior Card, children, stepchildren and foster children from 6 up to and including 15 years old travel for free if accompanied by at least one of their parents. The Junior Card can be purchased for CHF 20,- per child and is valid for a year. The Junior Card is free from the third child;
  • a 50% discount applies on a Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland for other children (non-family) from 6 up to and including 15 years old;
  • children up to and including 5 years old (family and non-family) travel for free if accompanied by an adult, unless you want to reserve seats for them. This applies to a maximum of 4 children per adult;
  • a 20% discount applies on the regular price of the Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland if you posses a Swiss (Flexi/Saver) Pass, Swiss Transfer Ticket, Swiss Card or Swiss Half Fare Card;
  • a 50% discount applies when purchasing a Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland for your dog.

Not included in the Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland

  • seat reservations and surcharges;
  • free travelling on some sections, such as Kleine Scheidegg - Jungfraujoch and Mürren - Schilthorn. However, you are entitled to receive a discount here.

How to purchase a Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland

  • The Regional-Pass Berner Oberland can also be purchased on train stations, tourist offices and travel agencies in the Bernese Oberland;
  • When you purchase a Junior Card for your child, you need to posses a passport or identity document listing your child. A separate passport photo is not required.
