Hello rahmai,
There are many options, but here’s a suggestion. You could first travel to Zermatt and spend about three nights/four days there. It’s a beautiful region and if weather is good, you’ll definitely enjoy the views. Please find hotel suggestions at http://www.myswissalps.com/ze rmatt/hotels and tips for day trips at http://www.myswissalps.com/ze rmatt/activities. You could then end your stay in Geneva, making a day trip to Montreux (mind the spelling: Montreaux is a common mistake :-)) and exploring Geneva itself. Another option is to visit Montreux on your way from Zermatt to Geneva. The hotels we recommend for Geneva are listed at http://www.myswissalps.com/ge neva/hotels, and please refer to http://www.myswissalps.com/ge neva and http://www.myswissalps.com/mo ntreux for sightseeing in and around both cities.
If you create such an itinerary, you could use a 4 day Swiss Travel Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass) for the first couple of days, exploring Zermatt and Montreux. During your stay in Geneva, your hotel with provide you with a free Geneva Transport Card (http://www.myswissalps.com/ge neva/travel). This allows free traveling within Geneva, so if you just explore Geneva once your Swiss Travel Pass is no longer valid, transportation will still be covered. An alternative is the Swiss Half Fare Card http://www.myswissalps .com/swisshalffarecard, allowing you to buy 50% discounted tickets for all trips throughout your stay. Which option is best, depends on the details of your final itinerary. Tips on creating your itinerary can be found at http://www.myswissalps.com/pl antrip/doityourself/co mposeitinerary, and if you want to calculate which pass option suits your needs best, you may like the tips at http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass.

Thanks Annika
But not sure if 1 day is enough to see Lausanne,Montreux,Vevey and close by regions
I read that Gstaad is one place should be visited, and the chateau de chillon , greyures, etc..
Also the trip on the Golden pass, from Montreux to Spiez is known to be good.
Have covered the other half from Lucerne to Interlaken
Would you suggest to spend just the first night in Zermatt and then head to Lausanne on the following day, and cover the places mentioned above.
I agree that Should go directly from Geneva to Zermatt the very first day, but need to plan the rest of the day’s beyond it
In Zermatt I plan to visit the Gorenghrat, and not sure what else to visit in Zermatt, not inclined to visit the Matterhorn by cable car, as have already been to Jungfraogoch.
would appreciate your views, and any suggestions on how to plan the rest of the days
Thanks

Hello rahmai,
All destinations you mention are worth visiting. It’s up to you whether you prefer a more relaxed travel pace or whether you want to include as much areas as possible. I suggested at least a couple of days in Zermatt, as activities there are highly weather dependent. A few days there, instead of only one, increase your chances of good weather. But if you think you’ll only be doing the Gornergrat trip (http://www.myswissalps.com/go rnergrat), of course you can limit your stay to one or two nights and then move on to the next region.
Generally, Montreux is more preferred as a tourist resort than Lausanne, so if you want to explore that area I’d suggest an overnight stay in Montreux: http://www.myswissalps.com/mo ntreux/hotels. It’s doable to visit the Chateau de Chillon and Gruyères from there, and do part of the Golden Pass trip too: http://www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass. You’ll pass Gstaad http://www.myswissalps.com/gs taad during this trip, and you can get out and explore the town. If you like viewing points, you can also take the bus from there and visit the viewing point Glacier3000.
