Do I need a Swiss rail pass for Luzern & Lausanne?
-
My daughter and I are arriving to Zurich airport on September 2 and traveling immediately to Luzern for a few nights. While there we would let to visit Mt. Pilatus (the boat tour, train and gondola). From Luzern we will travel to Lausanne. I am trying to decide if we should take the Golden Pass from Luzern to Montreux and from there go on to Lausanne. Or whether we should travel directly to Lausanne from Luzern, is it more direct? How long would that take? I see on other forums that the Golden Pass takes approximately 6 hours with 3 train changes. Lastly, we are taking the train from Lausanne to Geneva airport. Should I buy a Swiss Travel Pass or a half pass? Thank you in advance for your assistance.
