2.5 days in Zurich – rail pass and mountain trips
-
Hi. I am going to visit Zurich in 2 weeks. I am traveling with 2 kids. We will be staying there for 2.5 days. I am hoping to visit Pilatus one day and the other day is open. Maybe interlaken. I am not sure if I should book a trip through an agency or get a 3 day swiss family pass. If I take a family pass ticket, is it easy to navigate trains and buses.? The only issue with booking a trip through Viator is time limitations. Therefore, I am leaning towards a swiss pass. I have following questions
1. With swiss pass, I dont need any reservations to local trains? Just board on and show pass. Right?
2. For pilatus trip, where can I buy tickets for golden trip? Seems like I can’t get them online. Can I get them on Ferry/boat to Pilates? Also how do I get to boat once I get to Luzerne train stations?
3. If I want to take a local train to interlaken or Bern what can I do there besides walking around? Are there any special places to visit there?
4. Any suggestion for local sight seeing in zurich and lucerne, max 2-3 hrs
Thanks for your help.
