    hi,

I have been dilemma to decide my itinerary in Switzerland. basically i prefer nature and to include beautiful lake visit in my itinerary. here goes mine:-

Day 1: arrive zurich immediately go to Bern. overnight here

Day 2-6: go to Lauterbrunnen, and stay here as a base. Visit Wengen, Gimmelwald, Interlaken, Murren.

Question: Is it possible to make a trip to Lucern and Oeschinensee Lake (and Summer Toboggan) from here?

Day 7: go to base city either Bern/Basel/Zurich.Which city is more convenience?

We need to make a train trip to Paris.

Other than this, is it skiing is possible in June. if yes where is the place?

i have seen someone post picture Swiss Village near narrow river (as attached), but could not manage to find the location. help me to identify this place, is it in Kandersterg?

    Thank you so much 🙂

Hello bear2019, welcome to MySwissAlps! Let’s have a look at your itinerary:

As for train traveling: information about your journey to Paris and the according train tickets is listed at myswissalps.com/traint ickets/france. You’ll probably want to use a rail pass for your days in Switzerland. An 8 day Swiss Travel Pass (myswissalps.com/swisst ravelpass) would be the most convenient option, but whether it’s an economical choice for you should be calculated as explained at myswissalps.com/train/ ticketspasses/practica l/chooserailpass.

I can’t find any attachment, so I don’t know which Swiss village you’re referring to. Can you try again?

    Hi Bear2019,

It is for sure in the Bernese Oberland, and could very well be Kandersteg considering the railway yard in the background.

Have you considered a 6-day Regional Pass Bernese Oberland with a Saver Day Pass for day 1? Not saying it’s the best option but worth a look.

    Hi Bear2019,

You’ll have a good chance in early June, but no guarantee. It depends on the weather the coming weeks. Hope for the best but do plan for alternatives too 🙂

hi expert, should i consider the following activities.

I have difficult time to decide place to go and taking weather as consideration. as per previous comment we will base in Lauterbrunnen-

    1. Kandersterg over Luzern? should i skip Luzern

    2. mountain trip, is this sufficient?

Schynige Platte, Männlichen to KS, Schilthorn, Murren and Grinderwald to First

    3. Gelmerbahn up to Gelmersee. The steepest train, is it worth effort to go here since it is far?

    4. Boat trip in Lake brienz and aare gorge, and trip around Interlaken.

    5. The Planetenweg trail. Is it possible in first week of June?

    6. All of above, is it too pack or i can include more activities. will be in Lauturbrunnen for 6 days, then will go to Basel.

    7. should i bring rain jacket? i cannot imagine how rain season looks like in Switzerland. Im from tropical country, if raining season it is raining cats and dogs.

For travel pass, i have bought 8 days Swiss Travel Pass and i have calculated this is the best for us.

    Thank you once again.

    Hi Bear2019,

    Some answers to your questions:

    1. If you prefer nature, Kandersteg is the way to go. However Lucerne is the picture perfect town in Switzerland so worth spending a couple of hours there for some photos 🙂 http://www.myswissalps.com/lu cerne

    2. You will see plenty of mountains where you are going. There are a lot of mountains in Switzerland so you would need many trips to see them!

    3. I have not done the journey so cannot advise.

    4. A link to more information http://www.myswissalps.com/bo atlakebrienz

    5. cannot advise.

    6. You would really need to work out your itinerary using the timetable http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable to know whether you are comfortable with the travelling times or not 🙂

    7. You should bring waterproof gear if you are hiking in June. Here is a link on how to prepare: http://www.myswissalps.com/hi king/preparation

Good choice on the Swiss Travel Pass! http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass

    Wishing you a wonderful trip!

    Maria.

    THanks Maria.

I wish i read earlier this forum before book the flight ticket, and it seems late June much better time to visit. I also found out Gelmerbahn timetable will only be open on 8th June 2019. what a luck 🙁
