Must-knows about scenic train rides in winter

  • Most famous panoramic trains, such as the GoldenPass and Bernina Express, operate in winter too.
  • Some of the scenic cogwheel train rides into the mountains are not available in winter. An example is the train from Alpnachstad to Pilatus.
  • There won’t always be snow on the lower segments of train routes. But it’s very likely in high areas, such as the Oberalp Pass (Glacier Express) and the Bernina Pass (Bernina Express).
