2 hours in Montreux – suggest restaurant, shop for quick lunch

Short summary – read this first

Paula is planning a short visit to Montreux from Interlaken on 9 May and has only 2 hours there. She is looking for quick lunch options like cafes or places to grab snacks and drinks along the promenade for her group of four.

Key takeaways:
  • Grab a packed lunch or sandwich from the Migrolino shop at the train station for convenience.
  • Enjoy a picnic by the lake while taking in the beautiful views, as it fits well with your limited time.
  • Consider quick cafes along the promenade for snacks if you prefer not to pack your own lunch.

Hello everyone … we have booked a train trip to montreaux from Interlaken on 9 May … unfortunately, only have 2 hours in montreaux.  Approx 12.15pm to 2.30pm.  Thinking of a stroll along the promenade and maybe the funicular to glion … We would like to grab lunch … no time really for a sit down meal … Do you know of a cafe or pub along the promenade for quick snacks … or maybe a supermarket where we could grab sandwiches (and beers).  Greatly appreciate your suggestions (we are a group of 4 … 62yrs). Paula

    Hi Paula,

There are various cafes and restaurants along the promenade if you want to have a quick lunch. With a tight schedule, it might be a good idea to just grab a packed lunch or sandwich from the Migrolino shop at the train station.  Then you can have a picnic by the lake while enjoying the views surrounding lake and mountains.

    Regards,

    Anna

Hello Anna … thanks for your reply … yes, I was thinking a stroll along the promenade then a picnic admiring the view would be perfect for our short visit.
