Sai is planning a 4-night family trip to Switzerland, arriving in Geneva and wanting to visit Montreux for the Chocolate Train, a farm, and a castle like Chillon Castle. They are looking for recommendations on places to visit and ways to adjust their itinerary to fit everything in.
Key takeaways:
Consider staying in Montreux instead of Geneva for easier access to the Chocolate Train and Chillon Castle.
To visit a farm, you may need to rearrange your itinerary and possibly stay in Interlaken for a couple of days.
If you want to optimize your travel, check options for the Swiss Travel Pass to save on transport costs.

We are planning a 4 night trip to Switzerland. We are 2 adults and 2 kids ( both less than 11 years).
We will be arriving into Geneva from Paris on June-16. While there, we surely would want to take Chocolate Train, if possible we would want to visit a farm and may be see a castle. Can you help us with list of places that we can visit.
I’d recommend to stay in Montreux rather than Geneva. It’s closer to the mountains, very close to Chillon Castle (a nice 45 minute stroll or by train/bus/boat), and the Chocolate Train departs from there as well. There’s plenty to do there for 4 days, but of course you can consider to stay 2 days only, take the Golden Pass line to Interlaken or Lucerne and stay there too.
I would suggest to check out main menu options “What to do” and “Where to go”, as well as our planning page. Feel free to post your tentative itinerary for feedback.

Thank you so much for your reply. Below is the itinerary, we are thinking, please give us your feedback. We surely would want to visit a farm and spend time, not sure how we can fit this in our itinerary, any help is much appreciated.
19-June, Sunday
Paris to Geneva – leave 9:11AM Arrive 12:26 PM
Geneva to Montreux – leave 1:00PM Arrive 2:09 PM
In Montreux – Check-in into the hotel,
Visit Chilton castle,
go on Star train,vevey- the Pleiades
20-June,Monday
Chocolate train
21-June, Tuesday
– Take Golden pass to interlaken, spend a day there
I think it would require a substantial re-arrangement of your itinerary though, e.g. consider staying in Interlaken or nearby for at least 2 full days so you could do a farm visit one day and mountain visits on the other day.
You would also need to investigate the availability of public transport to the farm.
We are planning to stay in Montreux as of now. We are ok to making changes in last 2 days that is primarily we want to go on chocolate train and other days we are ok to rearrange. Are there in farms to visit nearer to Lake Geneva?
However, since they are listed by MySwitzerland.com, which is the official site of Swiss National Tourist Office, I would expect them to be of reasonable quality.
We stayed 2 days in Montbovon, it was really good mountainside area to stay and was cheap B&B. There were farms near to the stay, but we did not visit.
The trip was relaxed and good with a 15 month old.

Arun
