Can I access Titlis during the maintenance period?

Short summary – read this first

Adam is planning a trip to Zurich from November 9-15 and wants to visit Titlis. He is concerned about the cable cars being closed for maintenance during this time, especially on the weekend of November 9-10, when he saw ticket options available.

Key takeaways:
  • The Rotair cable car and Ice Flyer chairlift will be closed for maintenance from November 4 to 15, limiting access to Titlis but allowing travel to the middle station Trübsee.
  • Limited tickets are available for Engelberg to Titlis on the weekend of November 9-10, so you can still purchase those if you wish to visit.

    Hi there,

We have a trip to Zurich planned for 9-15 November.  We were hoping to visit Titlis during this time, but I understand that the cable cars are closed for maintenance.  Are they closed during the weekends during this maintenance period?  I ask because I had a look at purchasing tickets on titlis.ch, and it gives me the option to buy the tickets for Engelberg to Titlis over the weekend of 9/10 November.

Any help will be gratefully received.

    Thanks,

    Adam

    Hi bunnonthebass,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

According to the official Titlis timetable, the Rotair cable car to the top of Titlis and the Ice Flyer chairlift will be closed for maintenance from 4 Nov to 15 Nov: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/titlis/#dates. During this time access is possible up to the middle station Trübsee and Stand but not to the summit. However I checked the website again, and you are correct limited tickets are available from Engelberg – Titlis during the weekend of 9-10 Nov.

You can find further information about how to plan your trip to Mt Titlis here: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/titlis/

    Regards,

    Anna
