Train fare from Geneva Airport to Lauterbrunnen

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Maxles is planning a 4-day trip to Switzerland, mainly traveling from Geneva Airport to Lauterbrunnen and exploring the Wengen area, including Grindelwald and various gondola trips. They are seeking advice on the cost of the train fare for their main trip and on whether to purchase the Swiss Travel Pass, especially to take advantage of a promotion available until the end of March.

Key takeaways:
  • The train fare from Geneva Airport to Lauterbrunnen is around 70 Euro per person, depending on your travel date.
  • Opting for the Swiss Travel Pass for 3 or 4 days is a great choice as it offers flexibility to travel freely on most trains.
  • Check the areas of validity for the Swiss Travel Pass to ensure all your planned trips are covered.

Hi There Sorry to be posting again. We are still trying to decide what travel pass to purchase. We are looking towards the Swiss Travel Pass even though we are only travelling for 4 days. Our main train fare is from Geneva Airport to Lauterbrunnen, does anyone have any idea of the approximate cost of this fare as we think that will be our most expensive trip. We then intend to travel in the Wengen area and see as much as we can Grindelwald, some of the gondola trips and some of the other small villages etc and do some walking. We need to decide soon as we want to take advantage of the discount on the Swiss Travel Pass until the end of March. Thanks again and hope someone can help

    Hi Maxles,

You can find prices for point to point tickets here – this route seems to be around 70 Euro per person depending on your date of travel.

I think you are best off taking the 3 or 4 day Swiss Travel Pass – everything is included and you can just jump on any train you wish – super easy! A few trips are only discounted though, so be sure to check the areas of validity before buying.

Hi Lucas Thanks so much for that, I am pretty sure we will go for the Swiss Travel Pass, sounds so much easier and there is a bit of a promotion on in AUD until end of march which we will may as well take advantage of, thanks again much appreciated Maxine
