Bern to Zermatt using Swiss Pass

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named angelcat is planning a trip to Switzerland with a friend, where they will use the 2 for 1 Swiss Travel Pass. They want to know if their journey from Bern to Zermatt, specifically the segment from Frutigen to Raron, is fully covered by the pass.

Key takeaways:
  • Check the Swiss Travel System map for route coverage details.
  • The segment from Frutigen to Raron is covered under the Swiss Travel Pass, even if it appears as a dotted line on the map.

    Hi,
My friend and I will be buying the 2 for 1 Swiss Pass for our travelling in Switzerland. We intend to base in Bern on one of the days and take a day trip to Zermatt as we have checked out from the Zermatt website that the journey by rail is approximately 2 hr 07. We have also checked the routes covered by the Swiss Pass from the Swiss Travel System map but we are not sure whether the whole journey is covered under the Swiss Pass – in particular the part from Frutigen to Raron.
    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

    Hi angelcat,

I guess you’re in doubt about the dotted line on the network map? That’s just a tunnel. It’s fully covered.

Hi Arno and Olga, thanks for your prompt reply. Arno, you are right, was unsure about the dotted line on the map, thanks for your answer 🙂
